Dominatrix (also known in Portuguese only as dominadora and also commonly called domme) is a woman who plays the dominant role in BDSM practices. Dominators can have any sexual orientation and her submissives can be of any gender. The role of a dominatrix does not necessarily involve physical pain towards the submissive. Her dominance can also be verbal, involving humiliating consensual tasks or servitude.
